2024 Annual Meeting

 

Camp Fire River Bend will hold our Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 26th at 6pm EST. The Annual Meeting is a public meeting, and we invite you to join us (virtually). During the meeting, we will provide a Year-in-Review for Camp Fire and our programs, and elect new board members, officers and committee members.  The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 26th at 6pm EST. Slate of new Board Members, Officers, and Committee Members

  

Board Members at Large

To serve a 3-year term:

Jamie Green (2nd term). Jamie Green was elected to the Board of Directors in December 2021, and has served as treasurer for the past three years. Jamie is the Director of Corporate Development for Caterpillar Inc. He holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Mathematical Economics from Wake Forest University. He has been a resident of Birch Lake since 2017.

Kara Nickell (1st term). Kara Nickell is a 1st Grade Teacher in Middlebury, Indiana, and holds a bachelor's degree Elementary Education and Early Childhood from Indiana University. She became a Birch Lake resident in 2022 and is excited to join the Camp Fire board because she is passionate about building young children into strong adults.

Ethan White (1st term). Ethan White was a Camp Tannadoonah camper and staff member, and for the past three years has served on the Finance Committee as an outside advisor. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, and currently works as an investment manager for 119th St. Capital. He is excited to join the board in order to preserve and improve the Camp Fire experience for future campers, school program participants, and staff.

   

Officers

To serve a 2-year term:

Ethan White, Treasurer (1st term). Ethan White was a Camp Tannadoonah camper and staff member, and for the past three years has served on the Finance Committee as an outside advisor. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, and currently works as an investment manager for 119th St. Capital. He is excited to join the board in order to preserve and improve the Camp Fire experience for future campers, school program participants, and staff.

Carrie O'Brien, Secretary (2nd term). Carrie O'Brien joined the Camp Fire River Bend Board in July of 2022. She recently retired from her role as Senior Vice President of Employment Law for Reyes Holdings, based in Rosemont, Illinois. For over 22 years, she was an employment attorney in the Chicago area, starting with the law firms of Winston & Strawn and Drinker Biddle and Reath (formerly Gardner, Carton and Douglas) before moving to Reyes. She has her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, and her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. Carrie resides in Glenview, Illinois with her husband, Chris O'Brien, and their three children, who have been enjoying time during the summer months at Birch Lake since 2020.

   

Board Development Committee Members

To serve a 2-year term:

Tara Grove (1st term). Tara Grove is the Assistant Head of School and Director of Middle School at The Stanley Clark School in South Bend, Indiana. She holds a Masters in Education from The Ohio State University, and earned her Bachelors in Education from Indiana University. Tara and her husband Lee, and their two daughters have a cottage at Birch Lake, and love spending their summers at the lake. Her daughters have attended Camp T for the past three summers, and Tara looks forward to serving on the board of directors to ensure that many more youth have the same wonderful experiences at Camp Fire and Camp T.
