Support Camp Fire and Camp Tannadoonah

“CAMP IS MY SAFE PLACE. ONE WEEK MAY NOT SEEM LIKE A LONG TIME, BUT IN THIS WEEK, I MADE THE STRONGEST FRIENDSHIPS, SMILED MORE THAN I HAVE OVER THE LAST YEAR, AND LAUGHED UNTIL I LOST MY VOICE.” – CAMPER

Your support is critical to our success. Whether that is an in-kind donation of supplies or labor on a project, to donations to cover expenses, provide scholarships, or fund facilities improvements, sharing our #GivingTuesday post on Facebook… from $5 to $5,000, every gift makes a difference.

Camp Fire River Bend is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We rely on your generosity to continue reaching new children and improving our programs, facilities, and impact. Donations to Camp Fire and Camp Tannadoonah are tax deductible, charitable contributions. If you would like to discuss a particular project, giving through bequest or an estate, or have other questions about donating to Camp Fire or Camp Tannadoonah, please do not hesitate to contact us at 574-387-6095 or by emailing our CEO, Amber Grundy.

How will my contribution be used?

Area of Greatest Need

These gifts are not restricted for any particular purpose, but provide our organization with the flexibility to spend where it sees a need. These funds are often used for unforeseen expenses, new projects, or general operating expenses. In 2020, we used unrestricted donations to continue to pay our full- and part-time staff during the COVID closures, and cover shortfalls related to reduced income.

Camperships

Camperships are scholarships to help youth attend summer camp. In 2019 we awarded nearly $42,000 in camperships to a total of 92 youth. Campers receive full or partial camperships, which are awarded based on financial need. In 2021, we are hoping to provide more than 100 full or partial camperships for our 100th anniversary year

Capital Campaign

Over the past decade, our board and staff have been working very hard to raise the bar by improving our camp facilities. Our goal for 2021 is to raise $100,000 for our 100th Anniversary Capital Campaign. The focus of the campaign is to begin a major renovation and expansion of the Dining Hall, and complete the restoration of Morris Lodge. Please help us meet our goal and continue to improve our ability to serve youth at Camp Tannadoonah!

Accomplished through your generous donations

Over the past decade, our board and staff have been working very hard to raise the bar by improving our camp facilities. With the help of generous donations and fantastic volunteers, we have completed the following facilities projects in the past few years:

  • Upgrades to staff spaces in Main Lodge (2019)
  • New siding and windows for Morris Lodge (2019)
  • New Welcome Center (2018)
  • Brand New Chapple Lodge (2017)
  • Renovation of Birds Cabins (2016)
  • New roofs on Morris, Shower House, and Dining Hall (2016)
  • Renovated Nurse’s Cabin (2016)
  • New beds in Birds Cabins (2016)
  • Fixed drainage along Dining Hall (2016)

We have many other facilities projects on the horizon, and hope to keep improving Camp every year. If you are interested in making a contribution to our facilities fund, here are some of the projects your donation can help to fund:

  • Kitchen renovation and Dining Hall expansion
  • New Cabin(s)
  • Improvements to entrance and camp driveway
  • High ropes course and climbing wall
