“Camp is my safe place. One week may not seem like a long time, but in this week, I made the strongest friendships, smiled more than I have over the last year, and laughed until I lost my voice.” – Camper

How will my contribution be used?
Unrestricted gifts are used to develop program, improve our facilities, and fund camperships. Donations can also be directed to restricted funds for camperships, facilities, and programs.
Camperships are scholarships to help youth attend summer camp. In 2016, we awarded nearly $40,000 in camperships to a total of 87 youth. Campers receive full or partial camperships, which are awarded based on financial need. The economy has made this a funding priority over the last few years as our parents’ budgets have been stretched. Campership funds also help us provide the camp experience to children from partner organizations who serve underprivileged youth.
The cost to attend a one-week session of camp in 2017 is $565, and we are thrilled to receive contributions of any amount to help us provide financial support to more campers! In 2017, we are hoping to provide more than 100 full or partial camperships.
In addition to making sure we have a great camp facility for our campers, we want to also offer challenging, exciting programs to engage our youth and help them find their sparks. Program contributions have been used to purchase Lego robotics kits, Stand Up Paddleboards, art supplies, slingshots for a new slingshot range, and new basketball hoops.
Area of Greatest Need
These gifts are not restricted for any particular purpose, but provide Camp with the flexibility to spend where it sees a need. These funds are often used for unforeseen expenses, new projects, or administrative costs. For instance, in 2014, we used unrestricted donations to fund additional camperships, make renovations to cabins and other buildings, and buy new mattresses for campers.
Over the past decade, our board and staff have been working very hard to raise the bar by improving our camp facilities. With the help of generous donations and fantastic volunteers, we have completed the following facilities projects in the past 3 years:
- Brand New Camper Cabin (2017)
- New Windows in Morris (2017)
- Renovation of Birds Cabins (2016)
- New roofs on Morris, Shower House, and Dining Hall (2016)
- Renovated Nurse’s Cabin (2016)
- New beds in Birds Cabins (2016)
- Fixed drainage along dining hall (2016)
- New store porch and roof (2015)
