Schedule: The After School program operates on all scheduled school days, from 3:15pm to 6pm. We also offer occasional all-day and half-day programs when the school district has staff professional development or parent-teacher conferences.

Summary
The program lead oversees our After School Program at Sam Adams Elementary School in Cassopolis, Michigan. In collaboration with the School Year Programs Director, the after school program assistant, the after school program lead ensures high-quality program delivery and a positive environment for students and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
Lead engaging activities such as homework help, enrichment lessons, arts and crafts, physical activities, and group games
Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
Support students with homework and academic tasks, offering guidance and encouragement
Implement daily schedules and transitions smoothly and consistently
Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants
Model appropriate behavior and reinforce positive behavior management strategies
Assist in planning and preparing materials for activities
Monitor attendance and maintain accurate records as required
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and program updates
Follow all safety procedures, emergency protocols, and program policies
Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces, supplies, and equipment
Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality program delivery and a positive work environment
Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
Required Qualifications
At least 21 years of age
An associate degree or higher in any field of study
3 hours of MiRegistry-approved training in each of the following: (1) Program Management, (2) Observation, documentation, and assessment, and (3) Teaching and learning
6 hours of MiRegistry approved training in any of the following areas: (1) Interactions and Guidance, (2) Challenging Behaviors, and (3) Trauma Informed Practices
Positive and outgoing attitude
Leadership ability and teamwork oriented
Ability to relate well to people of all ethnicities, gender identities, ages, abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Effective oral and written communication skills
Clean background check
Valid US driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Prioritizes safety, preparedness, and proactive risk assessment
